Welcome to the Homepage of the Modern Philology Institute!
The Institute of Modern Philology at the Faculty of Arts, Miskolc University provides an organisational, educational, and academic framework for the activities of the Department of English Language and Literature, the Department of German Language and Literature, and the Department of Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies. The Institute aims to enhance research potential and raise the quality of education by coordinating department activities. In the last 15 years we have introduced a wide range of training programmes to satisfy the increasing regional demand for advanced English and German language studies, teacher training as well as the training of translators and interpreters. During this time the Institute has become the centre of the region’s professional and academic life, as is demonstrated by a wide range of conferences, professional trainings, publications, and our journal entitled Alkalmazott Nyelvészeti Közlemények.
